Winemaker's tasting note:
The 2010 Westerhold Family Vineyards Syrah is a very suave and polished wine. The initial notes of roasted meats and spices are followed by beautiful raspberry and cherry flavors. It grows in the glass and with time, develops secondary flavors of leather and spice which give the wine an amazing complexity. On the palate, it is super-rich and round - there are no hard edges here - just supple nuances and textures that pull you back to the glass. As it opens up, it gains length and shows the vineyard's classic white pepper and beautiful floral notes. For such a large wine, it is very light on its feet. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker
