Winemaker's tasting note:
The 2011 Westerhold Family Vineyards Pinot Noir, our inaugural vintage of Pinot Noir, is a wine that we have waited four years to craft and it was certainly worth the wait. True to our Estate vineyard, this wine shows the seductive side of Pinot Noir with red, fleshy fruit flavors, while also showing hints of tea and spice. Aromatically, the wine doesn't hold back - cherry and raspberry leap from the glass. On the palate, the wine starts lush and seductive, but with time, it shows its serious side. Acidity builds, making it very light on its feet for such a large scaled wine. As it continues to open up, the expressive flavors and scents marry with the wine's refined textures, providing a compelling wine that will be very hard to put down. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker
