Winemaker's tasting note:
The 2015 Westerhold Family Vineyards Pinot Noir is a wine that was defined by its vintage and AVA. As the drought was so intense in 2015 and there was virtually no water in the soil early on in the growing season, the vines were pushed to protect the grapes, pulp and seeds by developing exceptionally thick skins. This led to incredible textures which were noticeable even in the fermenters - after only five days, we knew the wine would have dense, oily textures. The flavors have really developed in barrel and show amazing spice and complexity, which complement the core of cherry and plum. This is a rich, seductively deep Pinot Noir that will provide pleasure for at least a decade. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker
